Welcome to our beginner’s patchwork class.
This class commenced 26/10, but you are welcome to join at any stage. The tuition fee is $100 for eaach class you attend
$300 reprents the tuition for Saturday 9/11, 23/11, 7/12
If you can not make all of these classes please contact us and book for only those you can attend.
In this 4 day series of classes, you will learn a variety of patchwork techniques. Our aim is that you make a 9 patch quilt, depending on the level of homework you want to do and the speed at which you sew. This will also depend on whether you are piecing by machine or hand. You are welcome to do either.
We will set you up to make about 3 blocks per fortnight. This is open to your time and wants. If you want to do a smaller project, such as a cushion or table runner, and piece it by hand you are welcome to do so.
We will supply patterns and notes each week and explain how to design, cut and piece the blocks. You will start to piece these in class, learning about:
- Cutting technique
- Marking techniques
- 1/4 inch piecing
- Pressing and sewing smaller blocks into larger ones
It’s a fun, supportive and social environment, in which you can learn new skills and get the opportunity to sew.
This 4 class series will run across Saturday 9/11, 23/11, 7/12
10am - 3pm each day
