Sew Along Block H

This week is all about half square triangles - large and small.

Cutting


From the background cut 16 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


These are to be paired with the below.


From the lightest aqua cut 1 half square triangle from a 2.5 inch strip


From the aqua cut 2 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


From the teal cut 2 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


From the navy ladybird cut 2 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


From the lightest peach cut 1 half square triangle from a 2.5 inch strip


From the peach/coral cut 2 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


From the pink cut 2 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


From the fuschia cut 2 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip


From the periwinkle blue / lavender

- cut 5 half square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip

- one 2.5 inch square

- one rectangle 2.5 x 4.5 inches


Sewing

Lay out as follows

Sew the half square triangles together


Sew the half sq triangles together into strips as follows.



Sew the units to the sides of the centre block.


Sew the top and bottom rows onto the centre unit.


Another block done. Sooooo close now


Background


To the top of the block sew a background piece 10.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches high.


To the bottom of the block sew a background piece 10.5 inches wide by 6.5 inches high. Note the different height here.
